FC-MD

The Fraunhofer Center for Experimental Software Engineering, Maryland (FC-MD) in College Park is the leading competence center for applied research and technology transfer in experimental software engineering. FC-MD works with companies, agencies and organizations to evaluate their development practices, recommend improvements, and provide training and direct support. Companies use techniques such as data collection, characterization, and feedback to build learning organizations and better understand their software business. Local experience and knowledge are accumulated and analyzed continually to help meet near-and long-term business goals

Executive Director Victor Basili and Co-Director Marvin Zelkowitz, professor of Computer Science and UMIACS, have established a close relationship between the University and the FC-MD to effectively apply research results in industrial settings.
